London City Airport


London City Airport (LCY) is situated approximately 9.5km (6 miles) east of Central London and just 4.8km (3 miles) from Canary Wharf. A single short runway handles short-haul flights with a strong emphasis on business travel. From October 2009 a new British Airways service will run between London City Airport and New York's JFK airport.
London City Airport can be accessed by taxi or bus. Its single terminal incorporates shops, information and taxi desks, a bureau de change and left luggage facility. London City Airport has a CAA Public Use Aerodrome Licence (Number P728) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flight training. Only multi-engine, fixed-wing aircraft with special aircraft and aircrew certification to fly 5.5 degree approaches are allowed to conduct operations at London City Airport.
